From his entry into the system-build housing industry to present, John Mann of Northwest Cedar Concepts has spent his time in the Package Home industry recruiting and providing leadership to dealers from Alaska to the Dakotas while guiding people through the building process to ultimately complete their dream homes. His passion for planning, budgeting, drafting, and ultimately helping people through the laborsome building process is apparent in the degree of satisfaction his clients express once they’ve moved in to their new homes.

In January 2008, John and Debi Mann celebrated their thirtieth anniversary and look forward to another 30 years. Their life together started in Las Vegas in 1978. John was a stock and bond trader, trading with partners in Westlake Village, California. In 1984 they moved to Thousand Oaks, California to work closer with those partners. With the crash of the market in 1987, John and Debi decided that it didn’t make sense to continue that lifestyle in the Los Angeles area so, together with their two small children, they left for the mountains of North Idaho. It was a welcome change.

John started a business in his basement, and after just 30 days he needed Debi to help him run it. Over the next ten years, John and Debi grew the business to over 70 employees and a million dollar payroll. They were in the apparel business and worked with some of the giants: Nike, Adidas, NCAA, the NFL, NASCAR to name just a few.

In 2000, the Manns sold that business, and John started looking for new challenges. At the invitation of a friend, he went into the housing business to help market the concept of modular or system-built houses. He helped his friend build that business into the number one modular dealer in the Pacific Northwest for Stratford Homes.
